HSBC Singapore appoints new Head of Wealth and Personal Management

HSBC has announced the appointment of Ashmita Acharya as Head of Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) in Singapore, effective January 18, 2023.

Ashmita will report to both Wong Kee Joo, CEO, HSBC Singapore and Greg Hingston, CEO, HSBC Global Insurance and Partnerships, and WPB Acting Director, South Asia.

She joins HSBC from Citibank where she was most recently responsible for retail banking in Singapore. Ashmita was responsible for wealth management and mortgage business growth in her previous role.

Previously, she was Head of Retail Segments for Asia-Pacific, responsible for acquisition, segment proposition, customer engagement and analytics for the 17 companies in the Asia-Pacific regions, Europe and Middle East.

HSBC said it aimed to double its wealth business in Singapore by 2025 and was key to connecting customers to international opportunities.
