Enterprises Urged to Leverage 5G at Thailand 5G Summit 2022

BANGKOK (NNT) – The deployment of 5G technology in support of national development has long been a key policy pursued by the current administration, with emphasis on the creative use of technology to create more opportunities. and making Thailand a regional hub for digital business.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha recently presided over the opening ceremony of the 2022 Thailand 5G Summit at the Centara Grand Hotel and Bangkok Convention Center. The summit was organized by the Digital Economy Promotion Agency, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) and co-organizers from the private sector.

These included Huawei Technologies (Thailand) and the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA).

The prime minister said MDES has been tasked with establishing a policy framework to promote the use of 5G technology in Thailand. This would in turn benefit the management of the telecommunications infrastructure that accommodates 5G and promotes the development of new products and services.

General Prayut called this year’s summit a starting point for the development of collaborative networks in Thailand and abroad. The event also serves to demonstrate Thailand’s 5G capability and the readiness of its telecommunications infrastructure to accommodate 5G technology.

In addition, it serves to help Thailand develop digital technologies and innovations with the aim of improving the country’s competitiveness and boosting the digital economy. The summit will also contribute to the kingdom’s efforts to become a regional leader in 5G technology.

The Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, said promoting technology and digital innovations is crucial to promote the use of 5G, while expanding opportunities for the business and civic sectors. .
