A leading universal bank in the Philippines recently partnered with an American software giant to create innovative banking solutions, streamlining its sales operations to ensure a faster and more efficient customer-centric banking experience.
Security Bank Corp., together with Microsoft, ensures that it continues to provide its customers with exceptional value by eliminating operational inefficiencies and providing the BetterBanking service.

The bank conducted in-depth analyzes to identify challenges in its customers’ operations. Preparing, finalizing and approving business proposals was one of the growth areas identified, as document management was done manually, which negatively impacted the productivity of the business team.
Using Microsoft technology and support, Security Bank developed its Sales Proposal Builder (SPB) application and integrated it into its collaboration platform, Microsoft Teams. Security Bank uses Microsoft solutions such as SharePoint and Office 365 for collaboration and Microsoft Teams as the main communication tool. Integrating SPB into Microsoft Teams allowed the sales team to leverage the new platform seamlessly and easily.
Today, Security Bank’s sales operations process, from preparing proposals to approvals, is fully digital and streamlined. Instead of manually editing documents, their sales team could now easily enter customer details, then choose from the catalog of all banking products, and simply click on what they wanted to include in the proposal.
Part of what makes the SPB application flexible, scalable and cost effective is that it is hosted on Microsoft Azure. Service Logic applications integrated into Microsoft Azure enable Security Bank to automate document generation and file uploads to SharePoint. Security Bank has also benefited from Azure’s deployment slots which allow them to easily update a solution without any upfront cost.
Security Bank’s innovation had an immediate impact on its sales operations. With the SPB application, the preparation of proposals now takes only 15 to 30 minutes compared to an average of two hours previously, while the approval process for the various internal groups now takes around 24 hours compared to two weeks previously. .
